Papier-mâché Figures/Edward Swift Jewelry/ Lynn Lennon
When I first met Lynn Lennon in the early 1970's she was a photographer. Now she has added jewelry making to her list of accomplishments. I served as her guide through the Big Thicket of Southeast Texas. She did many studies of the land and the people, primarily my family. Many of those photographs can be seen in my memoir, My Grandfather's Finger published by the University of Georgia Press. Lynn's entire Big Thicket Collection is preserved in the archives of Southern Methodist University. Her photographs of the Sugar Cane Industry of Southern Louisiana can be seen in the Baton Rouge Museum. She has several books among them Dogmatically Speaking and Categorically Speaking. She has had solo exhibitions throughout the United States and Europe. She lives in Dallas, Texas.
I show Lynn's Jewelry in my gallery in San Miguel de Allende. I made these papier-mâché figures in order to have something on which to display her necklaces. The figures have become my most popular work.
